Hartlepool will welcome a magnificent fleet of around 100 tall ships after being chosen by race organisers Sail Training International to be the finishing point for the Tall Ships Race on 7th to 10th August 2010.
The Tall Ships' Races are an internationally acclaimed annual competition organised by Sail Training International and held every summer in European waters. Each year between 70 and 100 vessels from 15-20 countries, crewed by some 5-6000 young people from over 30 countries worldwide take part in this unique event that combines four days of activities in each port with racing or cruising-in-company between ports.
John Howard Park
John Howard Park is the home of West Hartlepool TDSOB Rugby Club and Hartlepool Football Club. John Howard Park is only available as a temporary venue for caravans and mobile homes for the duration of the Hartlepool 2010 Tall Ships event, held on 7th to 10th August 2010.
This is a unique opportunity to stay within walking distance of Hartlepool Marina - the 'hub of activities' for the duration of the event. The cost of staying at John Howard Park is just £25.00 per night for each caravan or mobile home. This cost includes access to all our facilities including the on-site Club House.

Park and Stride
Not staying over night - not a problem. Park and stride from John Howard Park. John howard Park is just over 1 mile from Hartlepool Marina, the centre of activities. Parking is available for around 600 cars for the duration of the Tall Ships event - simply park your car and stroll down to the activities. A full days parking costs just £5.00 so don't get ripped off by venues further away charging double this. You can pay on the day or book your place in advance here.
